A HomeBuyers Survey will provide you with clarity that what you are buying is safe, sound and overall good value for money.

The main thing is it's a good way to avoid unexpected repair costs further down the line.

And will also give you an idea of how much you might need to invest in a property after you buy it.

The Homebuyer Survey and Valuation (HSV), also known as a Homebuyer’s Report, should always be carried out by a Chartered Surveyor or Valuer.

The survey is a detailed inspection designed to give the purchaser useful information regarding the house they want to buy in a "user friendly" format.

So what does the survey include?
- A clear and concise overview of the market value, marketability, particular features and general condition.
- Identifying matters concerning the value of the property which the surveyor judges to be significant and/or to require urgent attention.
- A list of any issues which requires instructing Legal Advisors to include in their enquiries.
- Useful advice on safety and maintenance matters.
- Matters which should be investigated or acted upon before legal commitment to purchase.
